A journalist for Rolling Stone, Sabrina Erdley, recently wrote an article “Rape On Campus” that has spread yet another feminist outrage across the internet and has UVA and the Greek fraternities on the back foot.
Now I am not trying to argue that criminal acts and bad behavior do not take place in universities. In any institution, of course there can always be incidents and of course there might be better ways for institutions to deal with these cases. Naturally, the victim has rights and there should be systems in place to insure justice is served—fair enough.
The problem here is not about the case itself, but rather the way a publication and a journalist has gone on a social crusade:
1. A monstrosity of an article, some 9000 words long, with fair portions of it written in a glamorous and perverse style more suited to an erotic novel, than a factual account of a crime on a university campus.
2. The article could most certainly enable fellow students to identify not only the victim but the alleged perpetrators. This is perverting the course of justice and enabling all manner of repercussions against those involved without allowing a full investigation and legal guilt to be proved.
3. The article assumes that everything the victim says was fact, allows the writer to take enormous and unwarranted liberties in presenting a story in a style close to a Hollywood movie “based on fact,” whilst acting as judge, jury and executioner.
There was a heavy person on top of her, spreading open her thighs, and another person kneeling on her hair, hands pinning down her arms…
Most of all, Jackie remembers the pain and the pounding that went on and on.
As the last man sank onto her, Jackie was startled to recognize him: He attended her tiny anthropology discussion group. He looked like he was going to cry or puke as he told the crowd he couldn’t get it up. “Pussy!” the other men jeered. “What, she’s not hot enough for you?” Then they egged him on: “Don’t you want to be a brother?” “We all had to do it, so you do, too.” Someone handed her classmate a beer bottle. Jackie stared at the young man, silently begging him not to go through with it. And as he shoved the bottle into her, Jackie fell into a stupor, mentally untethering from the brutal tableau, her mind leaving behind the bleeding body under assault on the floor.
How could Jackie have known it was the last man? The journalist tries to create sensation, and speak as though she was an eye witness, or recounting a video feed of the incident. This is disgusting journalism.
4. Is an article of this nature really best suited to Rolling Stone, which was primarily a counter culture magazine that focused on music and social movements? Wikipedia states:
Rolling Stone is a biweekly magazine that focuses on popular culture. It was founded in San Francisco in 1967 by Jann Wenner, who is still the magazine’s editor-in-chief, and music critic Ralph J. Gleason. The magazine was known for its musical coverage and for political reporting by Hunter S. Thompson.
It’s a shame to see another institution go down in a ball of flames as a bunch of feminist trolls move in and take control. Hunter S. Thompson, Sabrina Erdley most certainly is not!
5. Unless we make some noise and start firing back, it’s likely we will not have a voice. Frankly, I couldn’t care less about universities or what goes on there. I have no interest in attending one in any shape or form, other than perhaps looking purely for pussy… OMG, scratch that politically incorrect faux pas. This is how it goes down:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

6. I still remember the 70s and 80s, and to me it’s shocking how far the world has fallen. The media is swarming with pathetic trolls, complaining about everything they can think of. Katy Perry, for example, net worth $130M, has no right to complain about paparazzi when she’s made her living almost entirely from her tits and ass and happily flaunts them whenever necessary. This shot was taken the very next day—she can hire a $20,000-a-day yacht for privacy and can’t resist showing off, but expects to go for a walk on a public beach in privacy. Go figure.
I don’t have a personal stake in this issue, but I came across it on Google and was shocked by the state of people’s minds. It’s a fucking nursery school out there. Lord of the Flies is a heartbeat away from enveloping the entire western hemisphere. People are becoming more bigoted, entitled, and pathetic by the day.
So take two minutes of your time to browse the offending article and email Rolling Stone a complaint. The editor will take note. At least it’s doing something instead of just hoping for the best. Let’s be Rolling Stones—to hell with Rolling Stone.
