“Beyond a given point man is not helped by more ‘knowing.’”
Ernest Becker

Since resuming workshops, I’ve been more careful about analyzing my day approaches. From those reflections I’ve realized that it’s not just a couple things I do right, but literally hundreds of things, most of which I’m not consciously aware of. I can teach a guy everything I think is important to getting laid, but it will never be enough for him to get at my exact level. He’ll improve, perhaps considerably so, but he won’t turn into me.

Achieving a mastery level of any skill depends on three things: innovation, creativity, and motivation. You can live with me, watch me do 1,000 approaches, have a brain implant that offers a direct connection to my throbbing brain, but you will still not get to where I’m at right now. Instead, you must forge your own path after you’ve attained a competent level of skill which can best be described as semi-consistency. You must then invent a game that works best for you, becoming your own guru in order to achieve the highest levels. There is no book written out there to turn you into a master—you must write it yourself. That’s the lone feature that separates guys in the big leagues from those still stuck in the minors.

Everything you read on my blog is intended for beginner and intermediate gamesmen. I sometimes share advanced tips on my newsletter, but those tips are so customized to me that it’s not going to be helpful for men who are much different. I’ve been in the blog game long enough to know that you’ll grow out of me within a couple years (for evidence check out the difference in commenter names on a two-year-old post like How To Pickup Girls For $100 A Month and something more recent like Most Livable Country: Colombia, Argentina, Brazil.) Unless you’re reading me for entertainment purposes, you’ll either give up on the game or take off the training wheels and do your own thing with minimal outside influence.

Every man who is serious about the game will arrive at a point where there’s nothing more he can learn from other guys besides the occasional line. In the past year I’ve taken note of maybe four or five interesting lines from Roissy, Virgle Kent, and Mixxmaster, but not much more. It’s not that I’m closed off to learning, but—at risk of displaying my ego—who’s going to teach Jimi Hendrix lessons on guitar? The point of diminishing return from outside game material has long been passed. Any further improvement in my game must come from within.

If you’re mostly content with your sex life, but want to achieve the next level, the only way is to stop studying game and then reinvent the damn thing yourself. It’s possible that reading about game every day on the internet is a crutch that prevents you from experimenting and developing your own material where you come up with insights into human psychology and behavior that perfectly match your life and personality. Otherwise you read my blog and think that you’re “involved,” but you’re still waiting for a magic line or technique instead of grinding it out in the field. I don’t mind feeding you, but you’ll hit a ceiling of high competency that I or any other game guru can’t help you with.

Like an injured lion cub brought back to health at the local zoo, there comes a time when the lion heals, grows up, and is ready to be released into the wild. His first couple of steps are shaky and fearful, but next thing you know he’s tearing into the neck of a gazelle right before stuffing his meat into a young lioness under a shady tree after executing the paw nudge opener. His roars of delight can be heard for miles. Thing is I don’t remember ever teaching him the paw nudge opener.
