The internet “Gender War” consists of a teeny-tiny segment of men and women around the world typing at each other. Compared to the global population, this is actually a fairly insignificant number of humans. If every human who has ever participated in the internet gender war were to disappear tomorrow, the world would barely be affected. There’d be a brief news story. Some hopes and prayers. Then everyone forgets in two weeks. Your mom might cry, if she’s still alive. Your boss would be annoyed at your sudden absence. But life would go on pretty much as normal for the other 99.999% of planet earth. (For reference, there are 8.2 billion humans on earth as of 2024. Andrew Tate’s entire Twitter following, bots included, is 10 million.)

The topics these men and women type about are often very engaging, entertaining, and emotional, and the participants can get very invested in these discussions. A lot of the time, they become so invested that they start to see these issues in other things — sometimes completely unrelated other things. They start to turn every conversation and interaction about all kinds of topics into their pet issue. (This sounds crazy and very autistic to normal people.)

Because much of the time, they forget that they are a teeny-tiny, insignificant segment of the world — one tiny dark corner of the internet — and start to think that the things they see on the internet are real world issues that matter to real world people. (That’s how social media works. Algorithms feed you lots of information you engage with and show interest in to keep you clicking and scrolling, and the more content you see, the more your mind starts to think your tiny niche issue is a mainstream issue lots of people are interested in.)

This leads to people coming up with very silly ideas, like if only internet men didn’t type mean things about women on the internet, national elections involving hundreds of millions of people would go differently, global economic issues (involving billions of people) that affect the number of children being born would change drastically for the better, the divorce rate would plummet, romantic relationships would be loving and secure, everyone would feel safe around each other and be kind, and the world would be a wonderful place.

If only this teeny-tiny segment of people weren’t typing such mean things on the internet.

When you try to tell these internet warriors that pretty much nobody in the real world has any idea that something like 0.001% of people argue about gender war crap on the internet and that the internet gender war has pretty much zero effect on the world, they metaphorically stare at you through their screens like you’re the biggest idiot in the room.

Sure, your spouse, friends, neighbors, your kid’s friends’ parents, your co-workers, your clients — pretty much every single adult you meet in the real world — has no idea this is a thing and those people just go to work every day, cook dinner for their families, and live out their normal lives. But that’s just your little personal experience! You don’t know what a big deal this thing is — the whole internet is aware of it!

Internet warriors swear up and down that everyone they know is making big-deal personal real-life decisions due to the culture they witness on the internet and that this is a serious issue! That’s what happens when social media algorithms feed you a constant stream of content relating to your pet issue.

According to these people, internet misogyny must end! It’s the clear reason 80% of women vote a certain way in elections and are choosing not to have children, destroying the global birth rate! They’re all aware of the internet gender war and voting a certain way because of it!

And internet feminism/misandry/simping/gyncoentricsm/insert manosphere boogeyman word here must end! It’s the clear reason the birth rate is low and the divorce rate is high and the economy is failing!

This… sounds completely bonkers to every single normal real world human. You know, the other 99.999% of people who aren’t participating in or aware of the internet gender war and think that normal things, like economic factors, drive most decisions people make.

I’d say this must be a generational thing, and maybe I’m just old while younger people care more about internet conflicts, but none of my kids or their friends know anything about the internet gender war either. They’re too busy doing this strange thing where they make shruggy motions with their hands and say the number 6 followed by the number 7 and laugh, but none of them can explain what this means except that it’s from a song.

What do these internet gender warriors even want from each other anyway?

Internet women want a very reasonable and realistic set of behaviors from all the men in the world:

  1. Don’t say misogynistic things on the internet or in the real world, and don’t do or support misogynistic things like restricting women’s rights. In fact, call out other men who do this and tell them they are bad.

  2. Be kind, generous, and protecting to all women. And call out other men who aren’t.

  3. If you are married or in a relationship, support your partner financially, and do #2 above like ten times harder for them.

  4. Do not be overtly sexual or aggressive in any way ever. Do #1-#3 as hard as you possibly can and only respond sexually when a woman chooses you.

And you know what? Some of that’s actually not completely unreasonable. Parts of it anyway. But there’s one small wrinkle: Men have zero incentive to do any of that.

Anonymously on the internet, men can say or do or support whatever they want with nearly zero consequence, and if the internet makes women uncomfortable, tough titties. Those internet women aren’t having sex with these anonymous internet men and don’t have anything these men wants.

And being kind, generous, a protector, and a source of financial support to someone who is not doing anything in return for you, or if so, is only doing so occasionally when she deigns to, is committing oneself to the life of a servant and hoping he has found a generous and benevolent master who will not take advantage of him.

Sometimes, maybe, that might work out for a guy. But it’s not a very good deal. Not when there are other paths to happiness that might actually pay dividends more reliably.

After all, a lot of women out there have casual sex with good-looking, fun guys who do pretty much the opposite of all of the above. One might think that better advice for guys might be “Ignore all of the points above, focus on your looks and social skills, and enjoy sex while treating the women like crap.” It’s not a perfect strategy, but it’s significantly more successful than the one above.

Female internet gender warriors might be about to rise up and declare “NO! That is terrible advice! Don’t do that!” but… it works and leads to sex. Unless the guy is butt-ugly. In which case being a kind, generous protector and financial provider also doesn’t lead to sex, and he’s better off spending his money on more video games.

Internet men want a very reasonable and realistic set of behaviors from all the women in the world:

  1. Stop having casual/recreational sex and only have sex when you’re in a serious relationship. And tell other women to do that, too.

  2. Be nice to men. Like, not even out of your way weirdly nice. Just don’t be unpleasant. Exercise basic social skills toward men. And tell other women to do that, too.

  3. Date average guys instead of only hot, fun guys because when it’s time to settle down, average guys will settle down with you while hot, fun guys won’t. And tell other women to do that, too.

You know what? On paper, that’s “good” advice that would probably lead some people to happier, more productive lives some of the time. But there’s one small wrinkle: Women have zero incentive to do any of that.

Casual sex is fun and feels good, and can be participated in discreetly. A woman’s past is nobody’s business but her own, any man who asks gets sidelined — and there are always other men to take his place. Whatever sexual things you think your current woman has done in the past, you barely know a tiny fraction of it. A woman has zero incentive to not have all the sex she wants until she’s bored with it or the men stop texting, then marry some guy that she never tells about any of it, who’s not allowed to ask. (Because it’s not like her private life is any of his business. He’s just her husband…)

And being nice to men is completely unnecessary. Women can be a total bitch to men and the guys who want to have sex with her will deal with it, and the unlucky sap who’s married to her will lower his head, mutter “yes dear”, and try to serve her better so she doesn’t serve him some legal papers and take his children.

And average guys are boring and ugly. It’s 2025. Women have their own jobs and money now. Most of them would rather be alone than resign themselves to a milquetoast future with a milquetoast man. Though that’s started to change somewhat as the economy has gotten worse. The rhetoric used to be “men need to leave us boss babe party girl strong independent women alone”, but now that times are getting harder and money tighter, the rhetoric has shifted toward “men need to step up and take care of women”. Because women don’t like working really hard for not enough money in a bad economy when the option to be with a guy who makes good money and not have to work a job is on the table.

The gender war being unending is the natural state of this small internet niche we love to engage with. Why should internet men and internet women be nice to the opposite sex?

Why would a guy be nice to a woman? She’s not going to have sex with him no matter how nice he is. There’s nothing in it for him but self-satisfaction when he masturbates to porn tonight.

Why would a girl be nice to a man? She doesn’t want to have sex with him. Ick. He doesn’t have anything she wants.

A lot of internet men who read the bullshit I piss on to the internet would love it if we could somehow put women back in the box — get rid of women working, voting, having rights, thinking — but that’s not happening. Women are too useful outside of the box.

Women constitute 80% of consumer spending. EIGHTY PERCENT! It is vitally important to pretty much every society’s economy to keep women well-supplied with money to spend, whether that involves keeping them working, their husbands funding their lifestyle, or their ex-husbands funding their lifestyle. Men don’t waste enough money to float most first-world economies. The economy relies on women wasting money — their own or their men’s money.

Not to mention with women working mostly the same jobs as men, employment becomes a seller’s market. You’re not uniquely valuable as a potential employee when there are twice as many workers. You’re just another resume in the huge pile, employers can be as picky as they want, pay less, and profit more.

Your government likes women working, too. Twice as many workers means more taxes. Your government especially likes women being independent creatures because women are easy to manipulate when it comes to voting, protesting, public behavior, social media behavior, and so on. Every woman, from plucky young college girls to your boomer grandma — you will never encounter a group of humans so skilled at repeating received opinions from external sources as though they are interesting and innovative thoughts (on account of being delivered by a creature having a vagina you can have sex with).

I guess that does make these thoughts more interesting than when I hear men saying them.

Anyway, Internet Men: The internet is for fun. It is not real life. It is not the real world. And this Red Pill thing, while useful to the 0.001% of the world population that includes you, and demonstrably true and effective, is just weird autistic crap to the other 99.999% of the world.

That’s not a failure of The Red Pill. It’s a feature. If the whole world thought the way you thought, the lessons you’ve learned from the internet gender war wouldn’t set you apart.
