I was in a western town in Maryland, hoping to see some real live rednecks and working class porch sitters, when I came across this instead:
These girls, who looked around 10 to 12 years old, were laying motionless in a display window like mannequins for a new store that was preparing for its grand opening — I think it was a clothing store or maybe a dance studio. None of the girls moved or even blinked. A couple of them were wearing heavy makeup. I walked past, did a double take, and pulled out my camera when I realized they were human. I smiled at the girls and gave them a thumbs up while pointing at my camera. The girls stayed in character staring blankly out the window as I made faces at them. Only the girl on the far right (the one not in the picture) smiled and giggled. She will grow up to be the one healthy, functioning adult woman of the bunch.
This kid creeped me out the most. What happened to giving your kid a ball and shoving them outdoors to play in the sun? Hello children of the corn. SWPL parents experimenting with their children’s lives? Or prole parents sexualizing their little girls by tramping them up and having them pose in a sidewalk display window?
In a couple of years, the girl above will be kind of hot. You can already see the basic ingredients are there. A friendly reminder to the parents: When she ripens into womanhood (age 14) men twice her age will fantasize about violating all of her innocent openings. Why hasten the day?
