This website, PUA for LTR, linked up at HBD Girl’s joint in a post titled “Finally, PUA for Long Term Relationships,” has moved me to make a reasonable request to certain groups and individuals:

Stop using “PUA” as a synonym for “game.”

Why? I have two reasons:

  1. It’s an incorrect usage of the term. “PUA” stands for Pick-Up Artist. Roosh already said this, but it bears repeating: when you say something like, “PUA is the new science of seduction,” you’re actually saying, “Pick-up artist is the new science of seduction.” That sentence doesn’t make any sense at all. Would you say something like, “Doctor is the art and science of healing“? No, because you’d sound like a moron. Well, when you use “PUA” as a stand-in for “game,” you sound equally clueless.
  2. It’s too exclusive. PUAs are just one group amongst the various others in the game community. Not everyone who is interested in or practices game is a PUA or is looking to become one. When you extrapolate “PUA” to the entire community, you leave out individuals like Dave from Hawaii, Eumaios, and Hermes who are interested in monogamy and marriage. Another example: the PUA for LTR blog refers to Roissy in DC as a PUA blog, despite the fact that Roissy has never identified himself as a PUA.

Thank you for your time.
