For those of you who don’t live in the not-so-great Empire State, Hiram Monserrate is a Democratic State Senator from Queens who was brought up on felony and misdemeanor charges for rearranging his girlfriend’s face with a wine glass last year. Last week, he was acquitted of the felony charges and will assuredly get a slap on the wrist for the misdemeanor charges. Feminists are naturally pissed off that another Evil Patriarchal Oppressor has escaped justice. But what does Hiram’s girl, the one who had to have twenty stitches to close her wounds, feel about all this? The answer will surprise no one with a brain:
Karla Giraldo wants her man back.
Just days after her boyfriend, state Sen. Hiram Monserrate, was convicted of assaulting her, Giraldo told the Daily News she will ask a judge to lift the order of protection that has kept them apart for 10 months.
“I love him. We love each other and we want to be together again,” the 30-year-old Giraldo said in an exclusive interview.
