There’s one thing I hate about the holidays: family and others that you don’t see that often asking some variant of, “do I have a girlfriend?” Everything I have done doesn’t matter. Only this matters to them. Usually if they aren’t total assholes about it I will be polite but what’s the point?
They should either put up or shut up about it. If they think it’s such a problem, then why don’t they put up by doing something to help? Otherwise why don’t they shut up. It’s nothing more than a club used to attack me. And then there’s the people who are like, “I just want to know you’re happy”. So I can’t be happy alone? If you think I’m so miserable why don’t they do something to help? I think what they really want is me to lie to them to give them the best of both worlds of they can pretend that I have a girlfriend without an actual woman having to do the job.
I suspect what this is really all about is that they can’t stand that such a source of money, me, isn’t under the thumb of a woman. And it’s not like being with a woman makes men happy either. I have seen lots of men in LTRs and marriages. They are miserable. At least I can get away from women occasionally. They can’t without a divorce and their wives stealing half their assets. I’m at least partially free since no one has been able to devise a way to put me under the thumb of a woman without an actual woman holding her nose and getting close to me. There’s something to be said for women hating you.
