If some women I know had their way, then just the belief that a man might commit a crime would be the only standard the police would have to meet to arrest them. The courts already issue restraining orders on the low low threshold of a woman feeling threatened by a man, it can’t be much of a stretch to go one step further.
Some friends are having a bit of a row with their neighbors. It all started with the neighbors son bullying my friends son. The bully then proceeded to pick on my friends daughter too. My friend ended up reporting the bullying to the school hoping that they would step in to stop the physical intimidation (Right now the worst the bully has done is call the kids names and hit her son with his backpack). This escalated last week to the bully’s father threatening to kick her husbands ass for accusing his son and reporting the behavior to the schools. These neighbors aren’t bright. They actually think they have a case of slander against my friends.
After the incident with the backpack, my friend dialed 911 (inappropriately, but that’s not a surprise). She was told by the police that there was nothing they could do as swinging a backpack at a kid is not assault and until there’s a black eye, or other physical harm there was no crime. Also, there was no witness to the threat from the bully’s father, so once again, there was nothing they could do. This, of course upset my friend. She is currently ranting on facebook about the injustice of it all.
How things have changed is such a short period of time. Mothers, school officials, and do gooder politicians all believe they can legislate bullying out of existence. They believe that they can control it and stop it through policy and law. I laugh at the folly of it all. When I was a kid my father took me aside when I was being bullied and set me straight. He told me the bullying would continue until I stood up for myself, until I fought back. Talking to another friend of mine who has kids about this, he told me that kind of talk would get the father thrown in jail. For what I don’t know, but I can believe it.
The feminist push to remove all danger from day to day lives has created a situation that when confronted with mild violence we’ve got a whole mass of people who no longer know what to do. They cower and then plead for those legally sanctioned to do violence to come and protect them. With a typical response time of 5 minutes, you may not be saved. Heaven forbid you need immediate assistance in a city like Los Angeles. In that case, you’re probably screwed. And then there are guys like Max and Tallagash who correctly go through life playing what if scenarios through their mind.
If violence comes your way, will you be ready?
