Carrie Underwood just got married to Mike Fisher, a professional hockey player. I saw the picture of the happy couple and something struck me about it so I decided to look at more photos of the couple.
In fairness we will start with this one:
He’s looking forward, she’s looking up at him adoringly. He’s on her right, which is genrally the weaker position, but alpha enough in his body language.
However, most of the photos of the two of them display this:
Notice the massive amount of lean on his part, compared to her. The exposed throat. The smile is not quite as natural as hers, and again he’s on the right.
More lean, more uncertainty in his expression.
Leaning toward her again. Protective arm around her shoulder. The feet are o.k., but they could be spaced better. It could be the dress, but look at the tilt of her body.
Finally the kicker:
The look of annoyance. Fisher sees himself as the lesser of the two of them and he displays it in his interactions with her.
She’s lucky to have you and you better start acting that way Fisher or she’ll start thinking she isn’t.
