I mentioned in an earlier post that prior to being exposed to game and it’s tenants I was occasionally successful in elevating my game without knowing what I was doing. I believe it was Doug1 who asked in the comments for the story of my relationship with an HB8 and how my switch from alpha to beta behavior eventually had her looking elsewhere for companionship. May you learn from my mistake(s).
It was a beautiful, sunny early August afternoon some years ago. I headed up into the mountains to a state park located on a lake created by a hydro-electric dam. The business where I worked was throwing their annual summer employee appreciation picnic. Catered food, BBQ, games, and waverunners for the use of the employees and their families were provided. Good times in the fun and the sun.
I had just come off the lake after tooling around on one of the waverunners when I saw her. She was a friend of one of my co-workers and had tagged along with them to the company party. Tall, 20 years old (I was 28 at the time), roughly 5′8″, long wavy golden hair, thin (she later showed me she was a size 6-8 depending on the cut), with nice curvy hips and high C cup breasts. I knew immediately that I wanted to meet her, heck I’ll be honest, I lusted after her body from the moment I laid eyes on her.
At that particular time, I might have normally made a bee line straight over to my co-worker and said hi/introduced myself to Michelle. For whatever reason, I didn’t do that. I mingled, moved around, flirted with a couple of the younger wives, and hit on the office secretary. Now, the office secretary was almost as good looking as Michelle, roughly an HB 7-7.5. She was also psychotic. I lusted after her too, but I was solidly in the LJBF category with her. We flirted a lot which provided a lot of ego stroking for her and she used it to shore up her fragile self-confidence. I’m pretty sure that by the time I got over to Michelle and my co-worker I had established some social proof. My co-worker introduced me to Michelle and the three of us talked of trivial matters, I really don’t recall what. I broke it off after a couple of minutes and made some vague statements that I would talk to them again later.
A short time later the caterers announced that the food was ready and the majority of the group headed over to the tables that were set up. The vision that sticks in my head is of the pig slop being dumped in the trough while the farmer yells ’soo-wee’ and the hogs racing over to get their grub. I saw that as a good time to take a waverunner out for an extended jaunt. By the time I got back the jockeying of the hogs around the tables had died down. I didn’t head directly to the food table, instead I caught sight of Michelle and my co-working sitting down to eat their food and decided I go over and give Michelle a hard time about the amount of food on her plate. I don’t remember my exact neg, but it was on the line of asking her how a skinny girl was able to eat more than a normal grown man and if she was a competitive eater. This got a laugh and her to qualify herself to me.
About this time the secretary noticed I was talking to Michelle. Secretary girl had been sunning herself in one of the skimpiest bikini’s I’ve ever seen. I’d checked her out earlier and thoroughly enjoyed the visual stimuli. Secretary girl didn’t seem to like me talking to Michelle so she came over and sort of stepped between Michelle and me while asking me to help her out with some sort of nonsense that I can’t even recall now. I think I gave a vague wave in Michelle’s direction as I headed out with Secretary girl. The rest of the afternoon was uneventful and I soon headed home.
The following Monday, the co-worker who introduced me to Michelle stopped by my cubicle. We chatted a bit about the picnic and I asked her for more information about Michelle. She told me a little bit more about how her fiance and Michelle had met in their computer science course at the local university. She asked me if I’d like to go on a double date with them and Michelle which I eagerly agreed to.
It was decided by my co-worker and her fiance that we’d all meet at a bowling alley and play a couple of games. I was fine with that. The games were fun and there was none of that 20 questions crap that seems to be what guys (including me at the time) can get caught up in on a first date when they can’t think of anything to say or carry a conversation. We finished our games and decided to continue the night at a local cafe. We all had a good time and at the end of the night I asked Michelle for her phone number. I made some offhand joke about taking her out and her not needing a chaperone the next time which she laughed at. And that’s how I ended up with her number. Not what I’d call the smoothest of number closes, but it worked and I didn’t come off as a total tool.
Part II tomorrow.
