A couple of guys decided to take me to task for linking to Dave in Hawaii in my link fest.  Lest anyone have the misapprehension that I agree with everyone I link to, let me state unequivocally that I do not.   I also don’t care if you dislike one of the blogs to which I’m am linking.

So for your edification dear reader, here is how the blogs/posts get into the weekend link fest.  It’s really rather simple.

1. Link to something I or my co-blogger have written, agree or disagree, I don’t care.  So long as the response is well reasoned and on point.

2.  Send traffic our way.  And by that I mean some substantial numbers.

3. Write something interesting.  Even if I don’t agree with it I still link if I get an ‘a-ha’ moment or it gets me thinking.

4. If you’re just starting a blog, leave a comment on something I or my co-blogger have written.  Make sure to leave your blog’s address.  I will check out your blog.

Now in Dave’s case, his blog hits the first three points with a strong emphasis on number 2.  If STD can send even a fraction of that traffic back his way, then I am going to do that.  Dave has been a good blog friend since the beginning of STD.

I suggest that if you dislike anyone on the link fest then ignore the link.  There’s no one holding a gun to your head telling you to click through.
