“You can be either right or happy.”
I have heard that line occasionally by women, invariably directed to a man. I have had it direct to me.
I have never heard a man use it, nor a man direct it at a woman.
It shows up in an argument, where the man will not conceded that he is wrong.
I laughed when it was used recently against me and I told the woman I would rather be right.
She was nonplussed.
From a female point of view they assume they have mastery over the happiness of any man.
They also assume that everyone wants to be happy. It is such a core tenet of our feminized society that “happiness” is the be all end all of life.
If happiness was really the reason for existence, we could all be “lotus eaters” and sit around filled with medicines that make us happy . . come to think of it, women use way more anti depressants than men, so this is consistent with their world view.
Happiness is not a goal, it is a byproduct. Anyone that makes it their goal to be happy, that spends all their time focused on it, will be unhappy.
“With an attitude like that, no wonder you’re alone.” Is finally her response. For women, despite all the feminist protestations to the contrary, relationships are what’s important to women. Marriage is important to them because it is the keystone to their existence.
“I don’t need a woman for more than an hour.”
To which she makes a snide remarks about only lasting an hour.
I just grin, “I haven’t found one that doesn’t bore me after that amount of time.”
