“Your beauty and the fact that you are a female is enough.”
The catholic church appears to be embracing evo psych reductionist nihilism with statements like that.
Lets break things apart, shall we?
This blog is a complement to Msgr. Pope’s January 4th blog, Marriage and Manhood. There, he laid out some ground rules for men concerning marriage. Fabulous blog, in my opinion!
That statement alone should be enough to make any sane man question the recommendations in that blog.
First recommendation is: dress like a woman and smile. Good advice. Notice however this is focusing on outward appearances. Admittedly appearances matter most to men.
Second: Never ask a man out. Real men ask you out (shaming language again, but then this is for women). You just cut most of the betas out. This is passive advice that women generally follow anyway.
Third: More male shaming language, but its for women, right? Don’t have an intimate friendship with a man you’re not dating. If women followed this, betas would get used less, but helps the players. Again, passive advice.
Fourth: Notice the blatant assumption that the woman has an “ex” nothing like that on the man side. What does that tell you about the relative experience on each side of the equation. “Give the man the respect he deserves.” Not the respect he should have as a human being, but he (singular) deserves. Nice caveat. (Notice that it is presumed that women will date the same kind of guy she dated before: Translation, they go for the same Cad over and over).
Fifth: Let the man lead, basically, and of course make him pay for everything. Again passive, parasitic.
Sixth: “Your beauty and the fact that you are female is enough.” Obvious statement of female privilege. Presumption that all women are beautiful. Presumption that having a vagina is enough for a man. Also, unintentional supports the game communities concept that all women are fungible. This is the same advice as number one, only repackaged. Again: Passive.
Seven: If it doesn’t work out remember “The Privilege of Being a Woman” (An actual book the woman is reading.)
What does all this advice boil down to? All that’s important for a woman is to dress pretty and smile. That’s it.
She does not have to be kind. She does not have to be smart, or pleasant. Loving? That word ain’t in there. Affection, generous? Sweet spoken?
They do mention respect for the man.
Other than that, not a single internal virtue is promoted.
She simply has to be. The man must come to her, the man must serve her. This is one big love fest of female privilege because they have the vagina and they believe this is enough to bring to the table.
Note also, there is nothing about how a woman should behave in marriage, or really anything directly about marriage in this post, it’s really about dating. Even though this article is about women and marriage. Nothing about nagging, or shit tests, or being supportive, or not backstabbing her husband. Not a single word. I am sure someone way say this falls in the umbrella of respect, but why not point out the areas women have problems with? Or define respect? (and it is only what the respect he deserves, think how slippery that slope is)
Men are told to suck it up like a slave. Women are not told to be faithful, despite everything. To remain constant to their vows (even though they break them more). They are given no admonitions.
The catholic church still does not get it. They are still pushing female privilege and female supremacy. They still view men as inherently evil and women as inherently good.
Until that attitude changes, I would rather be muslim.
There are some of my dear readers that think I was too harsh in reading what was said to men. I ask you to objectively compare these two posts of the catholic blog and tell me the attitude is not unequal. That their treatment of men is something to be shamed toward righteous behavior, while the women are pedestaled. The post for the men falls on moral authority for good behavior, the only biblical quote here is this one : “When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls.”
Of course every woman thinks she’s a worthy wife, so the implied insult in those words is missed.
The proof speaks for itself.
