“The reason why I make a “federal case” out of all this Roissy, is because for nearly a year, I’ve heard virtually NOTHING BUT the worst, negative stuff said about Black people, and what’s ironic about it is that it doesn’t come from the stereotypical backwater hick, but from purportedly urbane, highly educated folk who ought to know better, but by all accounts simply don’t. Its ways past time somebody from the actual group mentioned started speaking up.
In that the Tucker Max movie is now out, it would be interesting to run a comparison of that to Hitch, and then we can determine if they are really one and the same. By what I’ve seen of Hitch, and by what I know of Max, I’d say the difference between them is like night and day.
As for this notion of “averages” again, what are you talking about? Joe, Specimen, T aka Ricky Raw, heck even Virgil Kent, to me, these are average Black guys, Roissy-and once again you, like so many Whites here and elsewhere, seem stuck on the notion that ONLY underclass, ghetto Blacks represent the wholeness of Black America and/or the Black Experience-even when you know, for a fact, this isn’t true, in the form of the aforementioned Black guys.
Listen Man-I am as Blue Collar as they come. Came from Working Class roots. Never lived in a project building. Never took welfare. And virtually ALL of the Black Men I knew, from my running buddies in highschool to the oldheads at Church, were NOT practitioners of “Holla/low class/crude Black Game”. To a Man, all of them were smooth, well dressed and fairly soft spoken guys w/an air of refinement about them that the ladies-White or Black-definitely liked. A lot.
And that’s what I see here, among the Black Men that regularly frequent this forum. I don’t know any of them personally, nor they of me, but based on what they write and how they present themselves, I’d argue that they basically come from the same mold that the aforementioned Men in my life did-all Black folk did not and do not act as if they were the subject of Bill Cosby’s speech, Roissy. And why that is such a hard idea for you or virtually every White guy here to wrap their head is around is both baffling and deeply disturbing to me. Because again, we’re not talking about backwater hicks here, we’re talking about supposedly sharp folks who’s on the ball.
As for Tucker Max, true, you’ve never been a cheerleader, but you have been an advocate for “Asshole Game”, something that if you recall, I’ve addressed several times in this forum. There is nothing-NOTHING-about TM or AG that is refined or gentlemanly about it, Roissy. In fact, it is the very low class, crude deportment, if one can call it that, that many here deride about Black Men.
And that’s my point. If a White guy’s doing it, it’s being a douche. If a Black guy’s doing it, he’s simply being low class and crude. To me, there aint a dime’s bit of difference between the two, which is why I said to Gig, that to me he’s no different that the ignorant cornerboy in the hood, no matter if his skin is as White as porcelin and has a closet full of college degrees. I find him to be gratuitously crude, crass, and just downright mean-attritbutes not only a true gent, but just any decent human being, would assiduously avoid.
And on that note, and to close out-i reject the notion that one must choose between being a doormat or being a douche. There is a middle way, a third option-its called being a gentleman and a human being, who respects himself and others, while at the same time maintaining standards of behavior and conduct from those he associates with. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t give a Women the time of day or the sweat off my balls if, by her manner and deeds, gets all hot and bothered for the Tucker Max’s of the world. Mind you, I’ve never, ever, questioned the “efficacy” of Asshole Game, and said as much in this forum; what I am saying is that I have a choice. And if the choice comes down to acting like a true sub human being in order to get my dick wet, or going without at all, I will gladly take the latter.
Thankfully for all concerned, there does exist Women who have just a weebit more respect for themselves than that. I’ve had the good fortune to know quite a few personally.
