Maria del Rosario Cayetana Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Francisca Fitz-James Stuart y de Silva, the 85-year-old Spanish woman known as The Duchess of Alba, got married for the third time, this time to Spanish civil servant Alfonso Diez, a man 25 years her junior.
Ordinarily, I don’t pay much attention to these things, but the pictures of the duchess are just too much to ignore. The woman looks like a plastic surgery horror show, and one has to wonder what Mr. Diez – not a bad looking guy – is getting out of the deal. When old men marry younger women, we often hear howls emanating from the usual suspects about how awful and exploitative it is, but really, it doesn’t get any worse than this (click the picture for a gallery):
These images should be enough to silence complaints about older men with younger women for at least a decade.
