Labour solicitor general Vera Baird says English law is too harsh on women who kill “out of fear,” whereas men who kill in the heat of the moment after, say, finding their wife in bed with another man, are not sufficiently punished. The old, common law “defence of provocation” is to be abolished and replaced by a new law called “loss of control.” Infidelity is explicitly excluded from the new law, so now there will be no reduction to manslaughter for wronged spouses – even if a man comes home to find his wife naked in his bed with another man – but if the victim said something “extremely grave,” for example, “your arse looks fat in that dress,” the killer may have a partial defense.

As long as the defendant has a “justifiable sense of being seriously wronged” (remember, infidelity doesn’t count), this feeling can be used as a defense. When women do heinous things, they usually do have a sense that they have been wronged. A woman can justify cheating on her husband and ruining his life because he didn’t pay her enough attention, he wasn’t making enough money, or even if he didn’t respond properly to shit tests — murder is only the far end of the spectrum where that behavior is concerned. And if we listen to feminists, who apparently run Britain’s courts today, women’s behavior is always justifiable.

Every woman who murders a man is now going to drag the dead victim through the mud in court. Although attorneys are not allowed to question the past behavior of a rape accuser – even when there’s no solid evidence that a rape has been committed – it’s now perfectly acceptable to cast aspersions on the character of murdered men.

I used to think some of the more radical solutions men are proposing, such as never living with a woman, were going a bit far, but they are looking more and more rational every day. Every day brings new news of the eroding legal status of men and the ascent of women. When women really have the reins – and it looks like they may actually pull it off – one can only imagine what an avalanche of injustices will come pouring down from on high.
