33-year-old single mother Jessica Pearce has been charged with luring a 16-year-old boy away from his home in New Jersey to Centralia, Washington by means of the online game World Of Warcraft. After meeting online as fantasy characters, the two began exchanging nude photos. The boy was 15 years old at the time. In July 2009, after the boy’s father found explicit texts from Pearce, he told his son to end the relationship.
Pearce then began flying to New Jersey to meet the boy, sometimes bringing her 6-year-old child along, and finally, in September 2009, she forged a school ID card for him and flew with him back to Washington State, where the FBI caught up with the pair a few days later.
Pearce allegedly admitted to sleeping with the boy, and indicated that she was trying to get pregnant, because she planned to marry him and “make a family.”
Although first arrested and interrogated over a year ago, Pearce has only now been charged and incarcerated at the SeaTac Federal Detention Center.
