Alas, the vicarious thrill of motion pictures…who would have known just 100 years ago during the advent years of the film industry that men would one day sit in a movie theater (or in the comfort of their own homes) and watch a fictional film that tells a story far too fantastic to be “real” but in the same vein spark imagination in the viewers that might just spill over into reality. Life imitates art….if only HG Wells and Jules Verne were alive right now to see the machines, vehicles, and technology they fantasized about in their science-fiction, now fully-functioning in our reality (submarines, spacecraft, etc.).
As previously discussed here at The Spearhead, the trend of women writers, activists, and journalists “shaming” men as a whole by pointing dirty fingers at men’s’ video-game play, movie and sports watching among other leisure time activities and crying that “men won’t grow up” along with other bullshit “slacker” derivatives is growing louder and louder. These female town-criers squawk about men going their own way and NOT catering to women as they “should” (i.e. marriage, procreation, divorce, legalized-theft).
Think it’s an over-simplification? Well what happened soon after that banner year of 1920 but the prohibition of alcohol? The biggest lobbies against men having a drink were the Protestant Churches and Women’s Groups, both ever-determined to make sure men DO NOT HAVE A GOOD TIME outside the home, church, and sweaty places of work!
Also discussed here on The Spearhead before is the current “town cry” over enjoyment of video games and other electronic leisures, citing “effect on children” whereas in reality it is grown men playing the hell out of video games the most as gaming statistics show.
The Motion Picture Industry and it’s Hollyweird crew churn out some really disgusting and stupid films full of misandry and unbelievable sissy-acting held up as “this is what the modern male looks like” not to mention the fact Hollywood cranks out more and more “child-proof” films within the “safe” PG-13 scope claiming a “wider audience” when really they are engaging in a form of soft censorhip that panders to the soccer-mom and “Twilight teens” crowd of movie-goers where no (real) man dare tread. So easy it is for them to ax “Guy-Flicks” that entertain straight adult males and produce more “women-friendly” (i.e. feminist-oriented) films that portray men in a negative light!
GUY-FLICKS are (generally) R-Rated adult-themed action films, erotic-thrillers, and funny-as-hell “Bachelor” storylines are fewer in number these days and mostly delegated to the straight-to-DVD market. And don’t say THE HANGOVER (that sort of “men are pigs” film is no Guy-Flick by any means).
However, for those of us “slackers” who do not willingly fall into the modern bear-trap of Marriage 2.0 to overweight hens raising a house full of (another man’s) kids, watching movies that portray life different than the norm here in reality, one’s imagination is fired…struck on the anvil inside of intelligent minds much like our predecessors who worked on rocket ships and space craft not to mention modern medical procedures such as heart transplants previously thought to only reside in fiction such as ‘Frankenstein’. After first IMAGINING the possibility in fiction and doing the research and study, men brought fantasy into reality! And in there lies the hope for a reversal of fortune in these times of blatant misandry that makes men second-class citizens in their own country….
Men will continue to “imagine” as they read books, play video games, and watch movies, imagining life portrayed in certain films where the man is a hard worker and dutiful protagonist who wins the day, gets the girl, and rides off into the sunset a hero…and more importantly as movies portraying straight men in a positive, realistic light become fewer and fewer in number, all is not lost because the “Guy-Flicks” of old are still out there and in-demand to the point they are cheaply mass-produced on DVD.
Men will continue to IMAGINE what it was like before they became wage-slaves and forced-welfare-providers for the “superior” class of women who did not always treat them like they do now, because they’ll see a far better example in films of the past.
Men will continue to IMAGINE what life was like before the advent of state-sponsored misandry, and even as they’re called “slackers” for watching movies over spending their hard-earned dollars on dinner-whores (whom offer nothing in return) and do not actively inspire to become some cupcake’s “Captain Awesome”, these guys might just experience a light-bulb popping inside their heads and then stand up to bring fantasy into reality just as the rocket engineers and medical researchers did decades ago….heralding a new age of men and women as partners in life without an abridged justice system screwing one for the benefit of the other, and individuals as a whole (clutch the pearls!) will be held accountable for their own actions or lack thereof! It’s not impossible my friends, for most revolutions are started by a select few people whom others emulate and follow later on.
I daresay it might just be the so-called “Slackers” (as feminist writers like to call them) who could suddenly realize that they’ve been had by the very society they’re living in and that women were not always antagonistic toward men as the media and justice system pushes them to be now….some will see it in “Guy-Flicks” of the past they pick up for a reduced price once they’re sick of the “men are idiots” plug found in just about every motion picture released to theaters these days. It often just takes a little push for a revolution to begin, and it begins in the mind. Perhaps with the increasing popularity of cheap movies on DVD (and downloads) not to mention video games among grown men and the inevitable feminist push to curtail or censor such fictionalized entertainment, the die will be cast, and life will begin to imitate art….remember my friends, the submarine was once only a tool of fantasy-fiction, so why is mankind’s return to harmony seem so out of reach when all it might take is fiery imagination inspired by an example seen on a theater or television screen?
