Democrats have a unique opportunity not afforded to any political Party since the Republican Southern Strategy. It is well within the realm of possibility for Democrats to secure an ironclad grip on the under 30 male vote, and perhaps even the under 50 male vote as well. I am not talking about college grads, but the average everyday man. The core bedrock of the Republican Party is up for grabs and no one realizes it yet.
Do you honestly think Republican Party cares about men? Look at the VAWA, they opposed it because the re-authorization included gays, not because it didn’t have enforcement clauses to protect male victims of Domestic Violence. Republican’s also support many policies that are detrimental to young men. From foreign trade agreements, to excessive tax breaks for corporations and investors that move jobs overseas, to wanting to gut educational programs young men desperately need and Republicans harsh stance in the war on drugs. Republicans only care about the rich men and women who buy their votes, err… lobby them. They are just playing off the fact that we men by and large know that the Democrats/Feminists out and out hate us, deny our humanity and use government policy to discriminate against us. If Democrats took the initiative, they could leave the Republican Party without a base at all. All they have to do is throw feminism and feminists under the bus.
Even though this would effectively mean the end of feminism and the destruction of many feminists’ careers, it would not mean the end of women’s rights. After all, it isn’t those on the left who want a rollback, as evidenced by talking head Ann Coulter.
Actually the exact opposite would happen, women’s rights as human beings would become permanently enshrined into our society far more then they are today. There would be no risk to women’s rights because the left would run the show and conservatives would have little representation in Federal Government, and increasingly weakened presence in state, county and local Governments. So the Democratic Party wouldn’t lose all those “I am not a feminist but” gal’s, but actually gives those gal’s a way to proudly say “I am not a feminist because I support equality for men and women”. Combined with the Democratic Party’s influence in other demographics, electoral extinction of the Republican Party could be achieved within a decade or so.
Of course Democrats would have to prove their worth by actually going after feminists in order to really gain support. One mechanism is fraud. Hundreds of feminists who operate Domestic Abuse shelters are already guilty of it as the VAWA contained a clause prohibiting the discrimination against male victims of domestic violence. These shelters by refusing service to male victims of domestic violence in a very real sense defrauded the Government.
One could even take a swipe at Women’s Studies classes. How so? All those pesky feminist statistics made up or distorted for “dramatic effect” were created with taxpayer money, so again you have a lot of feminists guilty of defrauding the government. This is really just the beginning of it; if the Federal Government recognizes feminism as a hate movement, that would give Universities and Colleges the muster to expel feminist professors and students en mass.
I am sure Republicans will try massive finger blaming, Democrats can dodge that easily through a few short steps:
1) Show compassion for boys, young men and men; that is something Republicans/Conservatives are incapable of doing. From the depth of their being they cannot view boys, young men and men as human beings, rather, they view males as merely a means to an end.
2) If Republicans begin finger pointing, all Democrats have to do is own their mistakes. Say that they messed up and show how they are trying to make right what they made wrong. Then they can turn everything around and say “where the heck were you?” to the Republicans. After all, Republican presidents supported Feminists twisted version of Title IX enforcement and other insane social policies that intentionally discriminated against boy’s, young men and men. One would think that the opposition would stand against this insanity instead of using it for political gain. After all, which is worse: Falling into crazy ignorantly, or willfully allowing crazy to happen for political gain. The important thing is to make sure the message is “feminists lied to us and twisted good programs into evil ends”, and “Republicans intentionally supported it to ensure male voters would hate us instead of trying to end the insanity”. Either way, it would the negative blame onto Republicans while creating forward momentum for social programs and policies to fix the problems created by the feminist movement and other human rights inequalities.
All that together would create a very powerful message to the overwhelming majority of disadvantaged young men, and a growing segment of young women who view feminism as nothing more then a hate movement from a bygone era irrelevant to the 21st Century.
