I was just watching the local government channel, and caught some public remarks before the Seattle City Council. A young Asian woman mentioned she was working for a women’s organization called API Chaya, so I thought I ought to see what she was up to.

After introducing herself and her organization, the woman started to ask for taxpayer money for her organization, specifically for a Japanese-speaking “DV advocate” because, she said, something unfortunate had come to pass. This terrible event turned out to be very good news for a number of local fathers whose children have been stolen from them: Japan has finally said it will sign onto the Hague Convention for International Child Abduction.

For years, Japan has held out and refused to sign, because it has one of the worst policies in the world regarding parental custody which recognizes absolutely no right to visitation by the non-custodial parent. When Japanese parents divorce, the child becomes entirely the mother’s property (unless the mother is not Japanese — then she is out of luck), and the father may not retain any bond with the child whatsoever if she opposes it.

This led to a number of Japanese women taking the children they had with American men to Japan, never to be seen again. Because Seattle has a significant Japanese population, some local men have been victims of these abductions. Every now and then, one is in the news trying to tell the world about this travesty, and it seems the pressure has finally borne fruit.

However, according to our local DV advocate scumbags, not giving Japanese women a free pass to kidnap children allows men to “control” and “abuse” them here. So, of course, they need money to protect the poor Japanese women, who are terribly oppressed now that they have to follow the law like everyone else. This support for what amounts to state-supported international piracy is shocking, yet they are given a sympathetic ear by local politicians. Every American father in an international marriage should be outraged by API Chaya’s advocacy for international abduction. Actually, every father in the entire world should take it seriously.

I think one of the reasons these feminists get away with what they do is that they are so shameless in their lies and so unapologetically selfish that people refuse to believe that anyone would be so wicked as to be that openly deceptive. Therefore, people actually buy their fabrications, because how could this innocent looking, sweet little girl ever say anything but the truth, or ever do anything but good? It’s the big lie technique with an innocent, attractive female face, and it is chillingly effective.

Nevertheless, we’re going to have to deal with it somehow, because this isn’t going to end anytime soon. I recommend presenting the authorities with the facts, remaining dispassionate while doing so, and urging people not to let their own good nature be used in the furtherance of doing wrong. I would ask the Seattle City Council, for example, if they intend to give money to an organization that supports and defends international crime.
