Thanks to the readers who’ve bought some time with generous contributions, I can guarantee that the site will be running strong for a while, but I’m still cutting it too close for the quarter. So anyone out there who enjoys the site and wants to help assure its continued operation can help with a donation of any amount. Any financial support to the site goes directly to work on its content and maintenance, which is a job I enjoy performing for our thousands of readers.
For those who are interested, the renewed effort following the resolution of my latest custody case has paid off with rising traffic and page views, and we are back over 10,000 page views per day during the work week, and 3,000+ uniques, in addition to nearly 2,000 RSS subscribers.
For future projects, which should help with the site’s income, I have been spending my spare time learning another typesetting program so that I can produce quality e-books for both sale and free distribution. This is a project I’ve been wanting to take up for a long time now, and it looks like I finally have the time to put it into motion (learning the markup takes a lot of sustained effort). If the books are compiled from open source content, I’ll give them away for free, but those with fresh content will be for sale (lower prices for regular readers/subscribers, of course). Ultimately, I’d like to produce books from a wide variety of writers, including some of the authors who have contributed here, and others whose subject matter dovetails with the site’s focus.
Finally, I’d like to thank those who have already helped out, and express optimism about the continued viability of The Spearhead, which has started to become something of a cultural feature in the blogosphere. I think it can safely be said that it’s made a real difference out there, and things are slowly but surely starting to change in men’s favor as more and more people come to see the double-standards and injustices that face ordinary men throughout our society.
