Readers have probably noticed some problems with the site, and the comments in particular. This is due to the fact that I’m using an old theme, and WordPress has upgraded many times since it was first installed.
I can and will fix it quickly, but it will require hacks and will be a pain in the rear. What I really have to do is get a new theme, and do all the work that entails.
I think for the next theme I’ll choose something simple and elegant that is easy to customize and upgrade. I’ve realized that nothing beats simplicity for saving time and making the reading experience pleasant.
However, I’m considering archiving all the old posts to cut down on clutter and database size. Maybe I’ll save all of my own posts on a wordpress.com site so those who are interested can browse them as they please. If anyone has any suggestions for good archiving techniques feel free to let me know — when the comments are working again, that is.
