Over 100 inebriated women attending an event in Nanaimo British Columbia were so enthusiastic about the performance of a male stripper that fights broke out amongst the women when some accused others of blocking their view.
The stripper was dressed as a policeman, and the women’s savage behavior began as he started to remove the uniform.
At least five women were arrested and two held overnight in the drunk tank after police showed up to quell the disturbance and restore order. According to the police, the ladies were so drunk that the Cavalloti Lodge, which sponsored the event as a fundraiser, will likely be warned about “overserving.”
One woman went with her mother and sister, and complained that all of them were badly scratched.
Another witness complained about the police response, which she thought was an overreaction, calling it “police overkill.” Of course, she may not have been considering the fact that a cop going alone to a place where over 100 drunk women were fighting over a stripper dressed as a cop might be placing his life, limb and other appendages – or at the very least his dignity – in grave danger.
RCMP spokesman Gary O’Brien said he doubts charges will be filed, as it would be hard to discern blame from the midst of such a chaotic, drunken brawl.
