Do you have any specific questions? Do you know what kind of jobs you'd want to do? Do you want something that transfers well back into civilian life or something you can only do in the military? I'm in the Air Force and have close friends in all branches, hit me up for any info

Depends. What do you want to do in the military? I definitely see it as a good route but it depends on what you want to do

Plenty of other non traditional jobs out there that won't court martial you for quitting.

I really crave adventure.

But you're too much of a coward to actually plan and go on your own adventures.

Accept the consequences of your cowardice and lack of planning. Other people don't give a shit.

Or say fuck it and go backpacking next weekend. Go do it. Stop making excuses.

You think a government job is going to be different?

A job is a job. Nobody is going to pay you to do fun things, unless those things also take massive amounts of training and skills. Then, they make you do it every day, 10 hrs until it's just another day at the office.

Red Pill truth: Nobody will ever pay you to grow as a man. Never. That's your job alone. Do your own fucking job.

That's their sales pitch.

Know a sales pitch when you hear it. It's a government job.

The military is not fucking therapy. It's not a personal life coach. It's not a live action role playing game.

Broken boys go in and they come out more broken boys.

Healthy capable people do OK usually because they have healthy coping skills.... then generally move on to more successful civilian jobs.

Except a fair number of successful people get fucked up with PTSD. That's arguably the biggest occupational hazard in the military. Permanent mental health injury.

Probably not a great reason to join, but fuck I really despise the rat race.

Except, now you can't quit. Don't like it, tough. You get shat on by you SO's until you STFU and learn your role. Or you go to jail, then get dishonorable, which for the purpose of finding jobs, might as well be felonious drug possession.

The military doesn't care.

If you want to sign up for the military, you're welcome. And you'll continue to not feel alive in your new government career.

Also, being in the military will make actually seeing a counselor or a therapist a lot bigger hassle.
