That article is so retarded I wanted to stab myself repeatedly in the eye.

Presumption of innocence is always afforded to defendants. That doesn't mean we presume the complainant to be guilty of lying.

You know, I was going to keep out of the Woody Allen debate, but I do have to speak up here, because I see this kind of "logic" as the driving force behind entire campus cultures regarding rape accusation.

I guess since aircraft crashes are less common than car crashes, we should totally ignore safety on planes, right?

Even if you accept the dubious claim that more claims of sexual assault are true than are false* we need to also take into account:

A Bitter divorce
A woman scorned (rejected for a younger more beautiful woman).
The clams of sexual assault first appeared in the context of the above

These undisputed facts make it considerably less likely that the allegations are true.

This whole situation is polarizing.

But I think looking at this case for any sort of clarity is a fool's errand. The whole goddam bunch of them are massively, completely fucked up. Woody Allen may be a great filmmaker. Mia Farrow may be a great actress. The fact remains, they're both fucked right up to hell and gone.

Allen married Soon-Yi Previn when she was 25, he 62. Mia Farrow married Frank Sinatra when she was 21 and he 51.

Farrow condemned Allen, but only after he'd taken up with her adopted daughter. Meanwhile, she defends Roman Polanski, who IS a convicted rapist.

I tried counting, but I can't figure out how many children there are involved, and how many of them were the product of a union, and how many of the were adopted into a union.

Mostly, I feel sorry for all the children here.

Come on, I'm all for standing up against double standards and hypocrisy, but can we not sully a good philosophy by defending this piece of shit? That evil prick lawyer that Allen has going around character-assassinating that poor girl is such a scumbag. If Allen were innocent, he would pursue libel charges against her. That's what that shit's for. If someone publicly labelled me a child molester, you bet your ass I'd sue them for libel, and I'd win. While it's true that not everyone has the resources to pursue a libel case, Allen certainly does. I wouldn't send my lawyer on talk shows. That's some guilty shit. They point the finger to a "scorned" Mia Farrow. Why would she be scorned? Maybe because Allen had been fucking her charitybaby for years and she finally found nudey pics (quite likely of her sub-18) of her in his closet? That said...

It's hard not to place some blame on Mia Farrow. She allowed herself to be deluded for the sake of her career. Woody Allen is a sketchy piece of shit child rapist, who should never have been left alone with a 7yo girl. I think Mia knew about it and ignored it for a while because she married Allen to further her career. I love the Pianist, but it's a good thing that Roman Polanski isn't welcome in this country. Woody should also be summarily booted, if only to keep him from ever making another film in NYC, cause that shit is tired.
