I have a 10 year old sister who enjoys watching shows on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon like a normal little girl. Unfortunately I've noticed some things that disturb me. A lot of those shows fill girls with ideals of guys. All of the guys on the shows are what girls are brought up to believe are perfect. Take for example the lyrics to a song called "Best Friend's Brother" sung by the star of the show "VicTorious". The chorus glorifies a certain type of guy. Shouldn't the shows be trying to show that not just a specific type of guy are good for them. If I'm overreacting let me know, but it seems to me that this is something that needs to be addressed, not just the stereotypes enforced about girls in popular media.
