Today, on the 20th of April, I had my employment terminated to what I thought was the best job ever. I want to give you all the story my fellow managers refused to find and ignored hearing.
About a week ago, I was checking offices for trashbags that needed changing. One of said trashbags was in the office of an employee who I already had difficulties with (of which I will explain later). She was not in an managerial of any sorts, just some random employee. When I asked if she needed her bag changed, she said it need to be. I saw that the bag was not in any need of changing, so I said "nah, you're good." and went on my marry little way... except I couldn't. See, this worker decided it was in her best interest to start bossing me around and outright told me to change it - and are you ready for this? - because I asked if it needed to be. Now, she started at me with a rather bossy attitude and at that point, it became an argument with both sides raising their voices. Eventually, I just walked off. Now, I want to go back here by a week or two. I am carrying two large, heavy trashbags through the office halls. One of them is dripping something foul and when I get to a door that I need help opening, I turn and ask said same employee to help we with it. She then proceeds to not help me and opts instead to give me a lecture on how to open a door. That's right. Instead of doing the helpful thing and just doing it, she gives me a bloody speech on how to open a door... all while the floor grows a nice puddle of rancid fluids. Fan... tastic.
Now, just today, I found out that the earliest of my two conflicts with said employee resulted in my firing. Did that ask for my side? Heck no.~ What are you, silly? Of course they wouldn't. See, all she had to do is say she felt threatened and that resulted in me getting fired. Keep in mind that both sides were raising their voices and that I said nothing that could be even thought of as possibly even get considered a threat. Nope. She's a woman and I'm a male, and in this world that's all it takes. Gender equality at it's finest.
I want all of you to know that in this world, your co-workers will stab you in the back to get what they want. She wanted me to listen to her despite the fact that she had no authority over me, and because I stood up for myself, I get kicked to the curb. Because I'm a male.
EDIT: Remember that this was two co-workers bickering. This was two employees who were both showing aggression towards each other. All my employer told me is she "felt threatened". Nothing of what transpired. Nothing how she snapped back. How she raised her voice. None of that came up. I've had similar incidents with male employees at prior job where the manager was able to tell me what transpired before hand with every word in detail. Why did none of those details come up?
