I'm a lady, and I am against circumcision. Since I can form my opinions completely objectively, I've had discussions with male friends about circumcision who feel I'm insensitive about it, and that "I can never understand, because I don't have a penis". There are two issues that come up that I want to discuss with the men of reddit:

I am against circumcision, not circumcised penises. This is a problem that comes up, because a guy will feel that because I disagree with the practice, I don't like his penis. I don't judge a man based on his penis, and certainly not a penis based on its foreskin.

Also, the argument that seems to come up again, and again, is this: "I'm glad I'm circumcised because my Dad is circumcised, and I would be traumatised if my penis looked different than my Dad's", and for this same reason he would definitely want his son to be circumcised. To me, this seems like pretty weak reasoning to perpetuate a social trend of genital mutilation, but I certainly can't relate, because I indeed, don't have penis.

How would you respond to this?
