He's been separated from his wifefor about 2 years but still married. Neither of them can afford a lawyer to get the divorce. She left him for a man that was in prison for 7 years and now lives with him. They had for this past 2 years had a shared custody arrangement they had done verbally. They have 2 kids together, 3 and 6. Now for no reason other than the 3 year old told her once that they hadn't eaten one evening. She's keeping them from him due to him 'neglecting' the kids. This is utterly ridiculous. This woman is very vengeful to him even though she was the one that left him.

What rights does he have here? All he wants is to be able to see his children.
