This event will not stop the criminalization of black women in New Orleans, nor will it stop one woman from being potentially deported after she calls the police subsequent to being raped.

That probably has a lot to do with the fact that it was never supposed to. It's been a long time since I've seen somebody try to take something that unrelated to their cause and demonize it for not furthering their cause.

Actually they make a very good point - that when it comes to police and sex, it is a very racist issue.
