I don't give a shit how someone was treated by a former significant other - the choice to kill other people is still a personal choice.

While actions of other may influence you, there's still personal responsibility for most of our actions.

If we follow this argument to its logical conclusion - then women who kill their husbands after "years of abuse" are off the hook too, right?
