Um... I checked the CIA world factbook and it looks like the sex ratio are the same as they ever were. I mean, I'm all about newaij, but could I see some sources? In the article it says that the 'band' was the source of the birth rate data, is this right?

Many people will disagree with me here, but I call this article one thing: Insidious.

Better to look to nurture, rather than nature, I say. It's more wise to look for causes and effects in terms of real observable puzzle pieces which fit together to explain the mind, and the personality - rather than speculating with a data set which doesn't have as many obvious connections to the thing you are trying to explain.

Furthermore, the writer of this article is using the same manner of speaking with which women were stigmatized many decades ago - their biology was said to make them inferior. I really take exception to the model of biological determism - the idea that biology determines a person's intelligence or range of skills.

No, men in Canada are actually doing great, from what I can tell. It's men in the usa and perhaps elsewhere who are doing poorly. According to my models it is a cultural problem, not a biological one. I would assert that it has to do with the fact that a society which has leaned towards feminism has not realized that those powerhouses behind the feminist movement in the usa have explicitly made it their goal to separate men from children. Thus over time, it has come to be the case that young boys and adolescent male teens are not getting the mentorship and attention they need as they grow up - this doting which would help them become healthy male adults.

Sorry to be so passionate against what seems to be such a tame article. But I had to say something, because of the social trend I could see this kind of thing starting. Hope I didn't ruffle too many feathers.
