Men are treated worse by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Their religious police used to arrest men about five times more often than women. Specifically the offense of not going to public prayer five times a day was only enforced on men. Men had to grow a full beard and were punished if they could not -- which was a common inability in one of the larger racial minority groups. Obviously men had to fight. When the Talibs fired the female civil servants they kept paying them their wages. The Talibs built female only schools and colleges. The practice of forced prostitution of poor young boys was and remains widespread in Afghanistan. This practice is justified explicitly as a means to protect women.
