Avellone Legal Response Evidence Shows Accuser Eager for Deeper Relationship with "Con-Boyfriend" After Alleged Incident - Niche Gamer

Last year, game writer Chris Avellone (Planescape: Torment, Fallout series, Prey) was accused of sexual harassment by a woman, Karissa Barrows, which led to 3 other women coming forward with their own allegations against him. Avellone did not say much and left the public eye.

In June, Avellone came forward and shared his account highlighting a lot of issues with the media and Twitter witch hunts. Some of the most erroneous examples included an article that claimed Avellone was alleged to "drugged and assaulted countless women" which was a bizarre misconstruction of the allegations levied against him. Avellone also announced that he would be suing two accusers for defamation, and intended to address the other accusations afterwards.

The Niche Gamer article discusses the new evidence included in the legal documents that suggest that one of the accusers, Barrows had been romantically interested in Avellone, substantiated by private messages she sent to two of her acquaintances at the time. The other accuser, Bristol who claims that Avellone had groped her, claimed that he only stopped when her friend Scott gave Avellone a dirty look. The legal documents includes emails from Scott where he clearly states that this had never occurred. Another individual (Bartley) who was present at the event described by this accuser has also made a declaration that she did not witness any confrontation or groping occur. Bartley declared that she witnessed Barrows state that she had gotten Avellone "blackballed" from the event by aggressively urging the event organizers to "based on what she perceived as his bad acts during his private split with his former casual girlfriend."
