Summer just began and I'm contemplating the future. Currently I'm working as a barback at an upper class restaurant, I make an OK living from it. If I dedicate myself to the restaurant, I'll become a bartender sometime in the Fall or Winter & The bartenders here make about 55-65k per year, which is fucking great for an 18Y/O.

I am starting college in the fall as well.

So how does my current job effect me currently? I was thinking of getting a sales job at a shoe store that pays 11$/hr + commission over the Summer, and then quit when school started. This would give 'sales' experience on my resume, but it would slow down the promotion to bartender b/c I'd work less hours and show less dedication to the restaurant.

Situation: Barback + work a lot on SMV over the summer & maybe open a side business or Barback + shoe retail & not a lot of time to work on SMV?

I was thinking of doing barbacking, working on SMV, then focus on school while making good $$ from bartending.
