Today, you have one group of people who say that women are no longer oppressed, but were oppressed until recently, until about one generation ago. Those are your typical conservative anti-feminists. They usually also claim that women are oppressed in other parts of the world. And they oftentimes also claim that "feminism used to be a great movement, but has degenerated into Marxism and/or misandry!".

Than you have second group of people who claim that women are still oppressed, but less than in the past, and they usually claim that things are at least getting better, that things are much better than generation ago. Those are your typical liberal centrist semi-feminists.

(You also have other groups of people, radical feminists, MRAs, hard traditionalists,PUAs, and so on, but these groups are relatively speaking very small, and can be disregarded for the argument I am trying to make here).

​

But, when you go back a generation ago, you have exact same thing going on. The same 2 groups of people who are saying the same things that their descendants are saying today.

​

And the same thing, the same balance of opinion, was also present 2 generations ago, 3 generations, 100 years ago, 200 yeears ago. Read the discussions that were going on in those days.

​

And we can expect that we will have the same thing one generation in the future.

​

So, you have the same worldview repeating every single generation, same views being held by about same proportions of population.

This presents obvious problems:

​

1)This is contradictory. Women are always on the verge of equality, their status is always improving (greatly) from generation to the next, but they never get that equality. This is obvious nonsense that makes no logical sense.

​

2)If every generation keeps repeating the same story, then most likely the story is wrong. The story does not reflect the actual state of affairs but rather tells something about the way humans function, tells something about human psyche.
