Cheerleader got off probation after fourteen months of her three years sentence for burying her just born baby. Can anyone give suggestions on how I could have articulated a better response? Does anyone feel that it is a little insensitive?

Postpartum depression is not a gender-specific condition. It is prevalent in both mothers and fathers at approximately 15% and 10% respectively. It may be a mitigating factor depending on its severity but by no means a justifiable cause for such crimes.

Similarly, men generally experience stronger sexual impulses and not weaker self-control. Does that mean that we should be more lenient with men who commit sexual atrocities?
