In his Situation is hopeless, but not serious (1983) psychologist Paul Watzlawick tells the story of a woman who complains to the local police officer about a group of naked men swimming in the river in front of her house. The officer proceeds to tell the men to go further upstream. A few days later the woman complains about the naked men once again. The officer then tells the men to move even further. After a while the officer receives a call from the woman telling him that she can still see the naked men. The officer asks surprised: "How is that possible? Those guys are one kilometer upstream". The woman replies: "They might be far, but I can still see them with my binoculars".
This is exactly what TRPers do, they go out of their way to look for things to get triggered by. They seem to spend an inordinate amount of their time browsing FDS, looking at instagram models, reading Cosmopolitan and attending spaces frequented by the kind of women they say they want to avoid but never seem to succeed at it.
TRP coaches, in their attempt to get clicks and get their hands in the pockets of desperate men prevent these poor souls from falling victims to female hypergamy, create content that confirms that the world is being run by evil women.
TRP coaches are not the first ones to use outrage porn to hook their audience. An analysis of social media posts by Canadian political leaders suggests that on Twitter, attack posts get the most engagement whereas policy posts get the least across all social media platforms. Similarly, many other studies found that people were more likely to take action after getting exposed to negative political campaigns. Gender wars are not exactly politics but it's not hard to imagine that the same phenomenon would be found across gender related content.
Once the TRPer is exposed to sources of outrage porn, availability bias kicks in. This type of cognitive bias leads people to overestimate the occurrence of events that are easily recalled. One possible example of this bias is the overestimation of the Muslim population across several nations. This survey was conducted in 2016 and I have a slight suspicion that the extensive coverage of the refugee crisis and ISIS advances influenced the extreme estimates.
The constant exposure to rp coaches and triggering material from a small number of female-geared publications pushes TRPers to believe that men are at constant risk of being fucked-over by women. Furthermore, this belief needs to be nurtured and strengthened, otherwise, TRPers would have to admit that they've been playing with binoculars and engaging in behaviors that put them at the proximity of bad women. Even worse, they'd have to accept that they love misery and the kind of women that cause it. Therefore, TRPers create conspiracies to ease their cognitive dissonance.
A TRPer used psychopathic tactics to get women into bed and the woman turned out to be psychopathic herself? Society is lying about female nature and this is how most women actually are.
A TRPer signed-up for a traditional marriage without informing himself about its legal implications? Courts are conspiring against him to uphold hypergamy.
A research came out suggesting that women are indifferent to facial masculinity cues? That's the gynocentric society trying to feminize men.
There are legitimate problems that hit men harder than women. There are also women who hold men to unrealistic and egoistical standards in terms of resources. Nevertheless, there isn't an organized movement out there trying to fuck up your life by hiding the truth about female nature from you. The ubiquitous presence of evil women in your life is a reflection of your tendency to play with binoculars and not some power to see the truth bestowed on you my TRP.
