If you want to have a kid with this woman then go for it. Nothing is stopping you and it is not like it significantly hampers your SMV for women in the future. In fact, a cute young'un can be even better than a puppy to reel in the pretty ladies.

The rest is grief and I can't tell you how to deal with that either except to say I am really sorry for your troubles. It will get better.

I think you are right to be the strong leader for your wife. There will be plenty of time for you to grieve later and that will be something that will be badly needed.
