Moving to a big city as a college graduate in his 20s, what to look forward to? Any advice regarding social life?

I've lived in both big cities and small towns since graduating and I prefer the small towns.

For 3 reasons

One is cost. Much cheaper. Life is better when you have more disposable income. Not just from lower rent/housing, but you spend less on everything. Items are marked up just because they are in the city. Living in a big city isnt worth the cost

Two is peace and quiet. Right now I live downtown in a large city and hate it. If I wanted to live outside of downtown I'd have to sit in traffic every day. Crime, homeless people, panhandlers, noise. I miss living in smaller cities/towns where it was quiet and peaceful and I could just go out on a walk and not be bothered.

Three is simplicity. Living in a big city, running the simple errands is a stressful task. Have to figure out what traffic is like. Then figure out where to park(and probably pay to park). And deal with all of that.

Thankfully I am about to move.

Finding out who you are is a never-ending process through experience.

It can't be done with a PS4 controller in your hand.

You will either like, or not, the city life, and that will also change with time.

Learn what makes you content at the present. One day you will be tested, perhaps multiple times. Finding that content place easily will mean you pass the tests.
