So I've always felt like I'm fully onboard. I'm not fully into the sex before marriage thing but I do date and have my way of life because of my beliefs. I'm strong in that sense.

My question is less about me but more about the tests and debates women love to have. I'm away from home in the US and yesterday we had a gathering that took a turn. I was the only adult male and essentially we were talking about the influence women have on children that aren't their own. One girl essentially was saying her 13y.o male cousin does whatever she does and listens to her music, her fashion opinions, stays up to date on all the showbiz stuff etc and I found that troubling.

The discussion went from this to how "men are trash" and "all men are a little gay".

How do you handle this? What is the proper response? I don't feel comfortable with the same girl saying "men are trash" then deciding how men should be. I got her wrapped up in how she will get married one day and potentially have a child who may be a boy and how sorry I feel for her in a life where she's stuck with trash and I guess that caught her off guard and our talk ended with us all agreeing to disagree.

It had me thinking though, and I'd love to hear your opinions on it. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed. I don't agree with her observation and I'd like to properly be able to handle this situation because I think it's becoming more and more trendy for these sort of discussions.
