My general rule is the less the better. Concealer if you need it for a specific purpose. Then just powder foundation (liquid generally appears to be more noticeable), eyeliner & mascara.

Classy : Natural / soft makeup with good makeup products on good skin so it doesn’t look cakey and therefore trashy. For eyes it’s good to stick to classics like smokey colors / nudes. Rest of the color palette is teenage like. Same for lips, classic colors and avoid unconventional colors.

Trashy : Poorly done makeup on bad skin, non blended makeup, harsh lines, clown face.

Less is more and focus on skincare more than makeup and don’t use makeup as a way of hiding skin flaws. If you have skin issues it’s better to seek medical treatments than hiding it with makeup because it usually looks cakey. You can also try permanent makeup like lip pigmentation, microshading and microblading combo, lash liner and lash lift if you’re interested.
