Everything that starts with RE: is a comment from me.

Maartje is 33 and lives together with her 5 year old daughter in Amsterdam. After a relationship of 10 years is she already single for a while. Even with quite a bit of 'dating-experience' in her pocket, men in the dating world keep amazing her. At VROUW (RE: Name of a section in wellknown Dutch newspaper) she shares her bizarre adventures.

If you thought dating in itself is difficult, try it with a child. And then, of course, I'm talking about dating as a mom. The vast majority of men get Spanish anxious (RE: Dutch proverb) when you tell them that you have a child. Apparently all kinds of alarm bells are going off and they have no clue how to deal with it. They are still big babies themselves. (RE: Male shaming ofcourse) However, not all men are the same. After many years of hopping around in the dating scene (RE: So she found men, but were not good enough), I can now even divide the men into four different categories. Unfortunately, it remains to choose between four evils. Here they come.

  1. Where is the emergency exit here? (RE: This must be the based chad)

This one doesn't know how soon to get away. For example, I was texting an Amsterdam DJ (RE: So it is chad) for a while that I had met through Tinder. He was wildly excited, couldn't wait to see me. However, the moment I mentioned my daughter, I was acutely blocked. Or the time I was out with a spontaneous singer/songwriter. We had a very nice evening, he had even kissed me. When I mentioned that I was a mother, he spontaneously asked for the bill. It seems that he is still in a state of shock…

  1. Nice to try once (RE: tbh its nice to try for once)

This type is far from genuinely interested, but somewhat intrigued by the fact that you are a mother. In his eyes I am not made of relationship material, but he is curious what it would be like to have sex with a 'mother'. These men simply want to be able to tick off the 'milf' box. Even or maybe just the pants you don't expect. For example, a Happn match once confessed to me that he "didn't take me seriously anymore" when he found out I had a child. Because 'what the hell are you doing on a dating app?' (RE: based) But that he 'wants to show me all the corners of the bedroom'. Fortunately, the latter never happened.

  1. Only the lusts

The third type acts as if he doesn't mind at all. 'Oh you are mother?' in his world is something like 'Oh you have a hamster? That's fine, isn't it.' The vast majority of men fall into this category. At least, the vast majority of men I've dated. They do not fully realize the impact of a child and have not yet understood anything about life. When you ask them how they feel about it, they usually say something like 'we'll see how it goes' or 'go with the flow'. Then they only want to see you on the days you're childless, and as a mom you work your way around to free up time, arrange a babysitter, look fabulous and be a top physical attraction. I tried for a year with such a figure until I got burned out. Indeed: go with the flow… Toedeloe. (RE: Dutch for Byeeee)

  1. The Family Man (RE: This must be the perfect one right, RIGHT?!) (RE: After reading this paragraph this made me laugh out loud and post here, I HAD TO SHARE IT)

Finally, there is the man who does understand it completely. He knows that you come as a package deal and sees your child as a nice extra. In this category, I have dated two men so far. They loved my daughter as much as they loved me, planned the best outings for the three of us and took on a fun yet responsible role. Big disadvantage: I didn't feel anything about it. (RE: THERE WE GOT IT: AF/BB) No fireworks, not even a spark. And then you can be best buddies with my daughter, at the end of the day (possibly earlier) you're in bed with me. Again not the perfect picture.

And so for the time being this mother monkey swings solo, but with her little one through the dating jungle until someone from the fifth (winning!) category presents itself. (RE: Look below for a question about 5th category)

... End of article ...

The Jokes write themselves don't they? I am 21 years old and got redpilled 4 years ago. I was scrolling Facebook and a very wellknown newspaper shared this article on their Facebook.

Ofcourse, it includes all the main stuff a 30+ single mum does:

  • Asking, where are all the good man?
  • Male shaming
  • Stories how they dated alot of men, but cant find a right one somehow.
  • Finding the perfect man (Family man) But guess what? NO TINGLES

It is very clear now, with category 4, the family man, that this single mom is not capable of choosing a right partner.

Now here is my question: What is the fifth winning category? It seems non-existend to me.
