Islam instructs Muslim men to beat their wives.

The Quran, Surah 4 (An-Nisa), Verse 34 – Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband’s] absence what Allah would have them guard.2 But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance3 – [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them [lightly].

Allah’s instructions are very clear here; first admonish your misbehaving wife, then do not sleep in the same bed as her, and finally beat her. Now, although there is no respectable person left on the planet today who advocates or supports domestic violence, Muslims still wholeheartedly believe in a doctrine that evidently encourages such behaviour. Also, note that the text within the square brackets is not the original word of god but an addition by the translator, so it seems that god forgot to add “lightly” when he commanded his followers to beat their spouses.

The argument that many Muslims use to defend this verse is that you must discipline your wife in such a way as to not leave any visible marks. Some scholars go so far as to say you should only tap your insolent wife with a miswak (toothbrush), in order that she may learn the error of her ways. Makes sense… So giving your wife a stern talking to did not work, neither did sleeping on the couch, but tapping her ‘lightly’ with a toothbrush will fix all of your marital problems… Really? Their delusion knows no bounds. It is right there in black and white; “strike them”. There is simply no rational answer to such barbarity, only lame excuses given by deluded apologists.

Regardless of what ‘True Islam’ is suppose to be, we all know what the fuck it really is and how it’s practiced in todays world, which is what really matters. I can’t support straight out lies just because it might overlap with what I believe.
