Crosspost "Race & Dating: An Analysis" from /r/FeMRADebates:

So whenever people talk about the woes of modern sexuality and dating, race doesnt seem to come up that often in online discussions, as such, i've decided to look into the matter myself to see if race plays a significant factor in finding a partner.

The best data on it ive been able to come across is from Ok Cupid. So from the looks of it, amongst men, indians have it the worst here, they are least likely to be replied too. In comparison, white men pretty much the most desired men. [In terms of desirability its: Indians<Blacks<Asians<Hispanics<Pacific Islanders<Arabs<Others<Native Americans<Whites]

Now for women, Black Women are significantly the least desired here, they are about 8 points below the average (34.3 VS 42). Arab women on the other hand receive the most replies and are about 7 point above average, (49.5 VS 42) [So basically: Blacks<Whites<Native Americans<Hispanic<Indian<Asian<Other<Pacific Islander<Arab]

Removing race from the picture, its still better to be any women on the site than a man (Indian Mens 20.4, compared to Black Womens 34.3)

[Another thing Black people are more likely to be single according to pew research]

Now as some speculation as to why these things are, with black women, they are more likely to be single moms, which probably cripples their replies a lot, ive also heard claims that society has "Eurocentric beauty standards" and as such, women with darker skin arent valued as often. The stereotypes around black women having attitudes and the like doesnt help either. Indian men from what ive been told act odd and creepy, which scares women away from them.

White men being the most desired seems somewhat accurate from what ive heard, many asian women and hispanic women seem to like white men. This could be some mail order bride thing happening, or could also be the fact that white men simply lack negative stereotypes. I have no idea why arab women get so many replies.

Anyone else have any other data or thoughts on this?

Note, mind you, i dont think everyone in these groups are this way, this is speculation.
