You know what's sadder than the removal of a clump of cells without a nervous system? Babies being born with horrible disabilities because their mother consumed crack or alk. Babies starving to death because their parents couldn't care less. Girls and women having to carry out their rapist's baby. Women and girls having to bleed to death because they have no option instead of an illegal abortion in order to not get killed from their families. And the list goes oooon. That's the reality of a society without safe abortions.
