I'm not sure the break down of UK and Global subscribers on this subreddit but in the last days we have had a truly awful news story break in the UK involving the death of Star Hobson. For those that don't know, is is basically a toddler that has been beaten to death by mother's lesbian partner (step Mother).

It is a news story that has weighed on me and I've seen a lot. It's just dreadful.

The relevance to this forum is, that there is a perception that women are more of a 'safe' guardian to a child than a man. This is obviously sexist and would have already been cancelled if it was a female issue.

This story comes on the back of a similar story in the UK which broke 1/2 weeks ago where a young child (Arthur) was abused until death by the so called parents - in this case, the step mother was also found to be the lead perpetrator with the father also found guilty of less a less severe offence. My point is, at what stage do we, as a society accept that women are automatically better carers than men?
