This is a rant. I'll probably delete it soon to keep the feed here HV and educational but I need to discuss with like-minded women.

So there's this woman I won't name out of respect for her. If you know who I'm talking about, please do not put her name here. She is religious with a sizeable SM following. I am a militant atheist but actually became a sincere fan of hers from a YouTube video of another atheist making fun of her, so I think that's a testament to how beautiful her soul really is. She's just the sweetest, kindest, most humble person and I'm inspired to be a better human because of her posts.

She got married last year to a guy I thought was super respectful, proper, yet modern. I loved his proposal and everything. I thought they were a great couple.

Except I read last night where someone pointed out that he posted on his SM (I don't follow him, just her) that he was addicted to porn for a long time as a teenager and he didn't know if God would save him. My jaw dropped and I was so angry.

I got angry for her. She waited until marriage for a fucking porn addict.

I know a lot of people might say that it was so long ago (he's in his 20s) that he was addicted, he's gotten over it, it's no big deal. But I feel like even such a short exposure, for him to recognize and deem it a whole ass addiction, could have warped him permanently. I used the word "former" in my title but only he knows if he still watches porn. I fear that someone like him could lean so far into religion to delude not only himself but his wife that he's "clean". Religious communities often sweep undesirable or shameful subjects under the rug rather than address them outright, and porn use is a big one.

I also fear that this is the Maddona/Whore complex thing playing out to the extreme in real life. This woman would definitely be viewed as a Madonna, and if he's fucked up from porn I worry about how long their marriage will last.
