I am late-thirties and just now digesting TRP. Need some clarification or links to more reading material for this situation.
I'll spare the details, but let's just say I'm dating a girl from my social circle that would send a guy to TRP for help. We've been on/off for the last few months and reconnect 3 weeks ago. Had intense week and then not a lot, but seeing her next week.
So the question is this: what is TRP strategy here? I see many posts recommending nexting any girl who has the upper hand, which she surely does. I understand why. I also see many posts saying to treat the relationship as temporary ("the vase is broken"). Enjoy the time I do have with her because it won't last. I lean towards this perspective.
I have accepted that there will never be a LTR here (her red flags are now very apparent) and am cool with that. A FWB or plate relationship (are these the same thing really?) is possible here, at least in the short term. We would both be dating other people. Again, I accept that. This is all recent, and I am just now starting to date other people again.
I also realize that keeping things afloat could cause oneitis relapses that would cause me some emotional/mental pain as I struggle to maintain my frame. But isn't being a TRP man all about the struggles of life and doing hard work? Doing the difficult things others don't, like lifting and advancing our careers to better ourselves? Surely bedding a girl I DESIRE is a powerful, masculine thing, no? Nexting her almost seems like the easy way out.
What's your take? Most of the oneitis posts I see here are about a girl the guy hasn't bedded yet, but in this instance I'm past that. I can give more details if needed, but it's the same old story.
