I use "emo" loosely, I don't want to get wrapped up in some sort of sub-genre/culture nitpicking.

I've never really seen this discussed on here, but I feel like that culture really misled me about relations between men and women. This forum has a lot of men who have struggled, and a lot of men who struggle gravitate towards emo/punk etc. Many will grow out of this in their early 20s, but for some it can last into you mid/late 20s until you're undisputedly too old to really do it anymore.

I started typing a lot, but some of it seemed to pathetic tbh. In general, it just seems that emo and some punk-ish stuff encourages men to act and think in a way that can only be success with women if you're a very, very specific type of dude in his younger years. Lyrically, these guys give out a very distorted picture of the dating/girls that is only relevant to a small number of guys who can pull off that role. Everyone else just comes off as pathetic, gets taken advantage of, and buys into a lot of bullshit.
